A Bangla-speaking practice in Detroit that helps individuals and families with the paperwork that decides things: immigration forms, tax returns, benefits applications and business registration.

Chowdhury & Associates LLC, written on our door and on Google as Chowdhury and Associates, is a paperwork and preparation practice on Conant Street in Detroit. We have been serving the Bangladeshi community here since 2018, and we work with individuals and families across Michigan.

Most of what we do comes down to one thing. A form arrives, it is long, it is in English, and one blank box or one wrong date can send the whole application back months later. We sit with you, in Bangla, Sylheti or English, and we go through it page by page before it goes anywhere.

We also keep an office in Sylhet, Bangladesh, which is how we help with the parts of a case that do not happen in Michigan: documents that have to be collected there, a family member filing from that end, a passport or a visa matter that needs somebody on the ground.

## What Working With Us Actually Looks Like

No call centre, no ticket number, and no form emailed to you to fill in on your own.

- You talk to the person doing the work: The first consultation is free, and it is a conversation, not an intake form. You will speak with the person who prepares your paperwork, not a receptionist and not a voicemail.
- In the language you actually think in: Bangla, Sylheti and English. A form you half understand is a form that gets filed wrong, so we explain what each section is asking before you sign anything.
- Checked before it is filed: We read the whole application back with you and check the supporting documents against what the agency actually asks for. Catching a missing paper here costs an afternoon. Catching it after a rejection costs months.
- You are told the price first: Our published prices are on the price list, and our fee is always separate from any government filing fee. Those are two different amounts paid to two different people, and we will never quote them to you as one number.
- We are here after you file: A receipt notice arrives, a request for evidence arrives, an appointment is set. Bring it in. Following a case through is the job, not an extra.

## What We Do, and What We Do Not Do

We assist with paperwork and preparation. We are not attorneys and we are not CPAs, we are not a licensed insurance agency, and we do not provide legal, accounting or medical advice. Nobody at this office will tell you what your legal strategy should be, because that is not ours to give.

What we do is the work in front of it. We help you understand what a form is asking, we prepare it accurately and completely, we make sure the supporting documents are the right ones, and we file it correctly. For most of what walks through our door, that is the whole difference between an approval and a rejection.

When a case genuinely needs a lawyer, we say so. Telling somebody they need an attorney costs us the work, and we would rather lose the work than have you find out too late.
