Tax Filing & Preparation

Accurate e-filing for W-2, 1099, and self-employment income, with every credit and deduction you qualify for.

Overview

Tax season should not be stressful. Whether you earn W-2 wages, 1099 contract income, or run your own small business, we prepare and e-file your federal and Michigan returns carefully and check them twice.

We claim every credit and deduction you qualify for and set up direct deposit so your refund reaches you as quickly as possible.

How we can help

  • Prepare and e-file your federal and Michigan state returns
  • Explain what your forms mean, in Bangla
  • Help you apply for an ITIN if you do not have a Social Security number
  • Make sure you claim the credits and deductions you qualify for
  • Set up direct deposit and give you copies of everything

Our honest rules

  • Everything you tell us has to be true and complete
  • We cannot claim deductions you did not have, and we cannot leave income off a return
  • A refund is never guaranteed. It depends on your own situation
  • The IRS can review any return, so keep your papers somewhere safe
  • We prepare your return only from the information you give us
  • You are the one who signs the return, so please read it before you sign

Frequently asked questions

I do not have a Social Security number. Can I still file?

Yes. You can file using an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number), and we can help you apply for one at the same time.

When is the tax deadline?

The federal deadline is usually April 15. If you cannot file on time, we can help you request an extension.

Can you file taxes for previous years I missed?

Yes. We can prepare returns for past years so you are caught up, which also helps with immigration and sponsorship cases.

How much does it cost?

Our fee depends on which forms your return needs, so it is one of the few things we do not publish a single price for. We work it out with you at your free consultation and tell you the amount before we start.

Do I need to speak English?

No. We explain your forms, your refund and your return in Bangla or Sylheti, and we translate any letter the IRS or the State of Michigan sends you.

How long until I get my refund?

The IRS usually sends an e-filed refund by direct deposit in about three weeks, though some returns take longer. We set up direct deposit for you and show you how to check the status yourself.

What happens if I leave some income off, or claim something I did not have?

We will not prepare a return that way, and if we find out afterwards that what we were given was untrue, we stop work. Beyond that, the return is the one you sign. The IRS matches what you file against what employers, banks and payment platforms report to it, so cash work, a 1099 you forgot, or a dependent somebody else has already claimed tends to surface on its own, sometimes years later. What follows is the IRS deciding, not us: tax to repay with interest, a penalty, a refund taken back, or a closer look at earlier years. We prepare your return only from what you give us and we cannot know what you have not told us, so that outcome is not something we can undo or be responsible for, and our terms say so. Tell us the awkward thing while we are preparing the return. There is often a legitimate way to handle it that you did not know about.

We assist with paperwork and preparation. We are not attorneys or CPAs and do not provide legal or accounting advice.
