Unemployment Benefit Application

Help filing your Michigan unemployment claim when you lose a job through no fault of your own.

Overview

Michigan unemployment (run by the UIA) gives temporary weekly payments to workers who lose a job through no fault of their own and are able, available, and looking for full-time work. You file and manage your claim in an online MiWAM account.

The system is technical and English-heavy, and you must certify every two weeks or payments stop. We help you set it up and stay on track.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get benefits if I quit?

Usually not, unless you quit for a good reason connected to the employer. If you were fired, the employer must prove misconduct. The UIA decides each case.

What if my claim is denied?

You can protest within 30 days. See our Unemployment Protest / Appeal page, we help with that too.

We assist with paperwork and preparation. We are not attorneys or CPAs and do not provide legal or accounting advice.
