Terms of Service

What you can expect from us, what we need from you, and the honest limits of what a paperwork service can do.

Last updated:August 13, 2026

These terms apply when you use this website and when you hire Chowdhury & Associates LLC to prepare paperwork for you. They are written in plain words on purpose, because a page nobody can read protects nobody.

By using this website or asking us to do work for you, you are agreeing to what is on this page. If something here does not sit right with you, tell us before we start.

The short version

  • We are a paperwork and preparation service. We are not attorneys and not CPAs
  • We do not give legal advice or tax advice, and we cannot represent you
  • Nobody can promise you an approval. The government decides, not us
  • You get our price before we start, and government fees are separate
  • Everything you tell us has to be true, because you are the one who signs
  • If something is left out or is not true, the consequences fall on you, and they can arrive years later
  • If your case needs a lawyer, we will say so and point you to one

Who we are and what we do

Chowdhury & Associates LLC is a paraprofessional services agency in Detroit, Michigan, with a second office in Sylhet, Bangladesh. We help people prepare, complete, organize and file paperwork, and we explain in Bangla, Sylheti or English what an agency is asking for.

That includes immigration forms, federal and Michigan tax returns, business registration, homecare arrangements through our partner agency, and applications for public benefits and everyday documents.

What we are not, and what we cannot do

This is the most important section on this page, and we would rather you read it before you hire us than after.

  • We are not attorneys and we are not a law firm. We do not give legal advice, we do not tell you which legal option to choose, and we cannot represent you before USCIS, a court, or any other agency
  • We are not CPAs. We prepare tax returns, but we do not give accounting advice or tax planning advice
  • We are not a licensed insurance agency, and we do not sell insurance policies
  • We are not a medical provider. Homecare through our partner agency is non-medical help with daily living
  • We do not decide any application. USCIS, the IRS, the Social Security Administration, MDHHS, an embassy or an insurer makes that decision, and we cannot guarantee or predict the outcome
  • We cannot promise how long an agency will take. Nobody in this office controls government processing times
  • If your situation involves a criminal record, a past immigration problem, a court case or a dispute, we will tell you honestly that you need a licensed attorney, and we would rather lose the work than take it

Your first consultation

Your first consultation is free and puts you under no obligation. We will listen to your situation, tell you plainly whether we can help, explain your options, and tell you the fee. You are free to walk away and think about it, and many people do.

Fees and payment

  • Our service fee is quoted to you before any work begins. If the work turns out to be bigger than it first looked, we tell you before doing it, not afterwards
  • Government fees are separate from our fee. Filing fees charged by USCIS, the Department of State, a county, the State of Michigan or an embassy are set by that agency and paid to that agency, not to us
  • Any price shown on this website may change at any time, and we may not be able to give you notice first. The price that applies to your work is the one we confirm with you before we begin, not the one that happened to be on the page earlier
  • Government fees change on the government’s own schedule. The amount that applies is the one in force on the day your application is filed
  • Not everything we do has a published price, because some work depends on your own situation. If the service you need is not on our prices page, please ask and we will tell you the amount before any work begins
  • Payment is due as agreed with you at the start of the work
  • Some government services, such as applying for a Social Security card or applying for benefits, are free from the government. When that is the case we say so. Our fee is only ever for the help we give you

Refunds

We want you to be happy with the work, so this is straightforward.

  • If you cancel before we have started work on your papers, you get your full service fee back
  • If you cancel after we have started, we refund the part of the fee for work not yet done
  • Once a government fee has been paid to a government agency, we cannot refund it. It is not our money, and those agencies do not return filing fees, including when an application is denied
  • We cannot refund our fee because an application was refused. The agency makes that decision, not us. If a refusal happens because we made a mistake in the preparation, we will put it right at no charge
  • We cannot refund our fee when the problem comes from information that was left out, held back or not accurate. Putting a case like that right is new work, and we may have to charge for it. The section below explains this properly
  • If you think something went wrong, come and talk to us first. Most things are fixed in a conversation

What we need from you

Our work is only as good as the information we are given, and on most forms you are the person who signs. So:

  • Everything you tell us must be true, complete and your own
  • The documents you give us must be genuine and belong to you or to the family member you are applying for
  • You must read a form before you sign it, and ask us about anything you do not understand. We will go through it with you line by line if you want
  • You must tell us when something changes: a new address, a new job, a marriage, a divorce, a trip abroad, a new notice in the mail
  • You must meet the deadlines an agency gives you, and get any letter you receive to us quickly, because many appeal deadlines are short
  • We will not prepare anything we believe to be false, and we will stop work if we find out that information given to us was untrue

If information is missing, held back or untrue

This has its own section because it is the most common way a case goes wrong, and it almost never goes wrong on the day. An agency checks its own records, it talks to other agencies, and it can come back long afterwards with a question about something that was never mentioned.

Leaving something out counts the same as saying something untrue. A previous marriage, an old arrest, an earlier application or refusal, another name you have used, time spent outside the country, income that was not mentioned, someone living in the household who was not listed: if it is not on the form, the form is not accurate, and the form is the one you sign.

  • You are responsible for the truth, completeness and accuracy of what you give us, and for what follows if it turns out to be wrong
  • We prepare your forms from what you tell us and the documents you hand over. We do not check them against government records, and we have no way of knowing about something you have not told us
  • If an agency later finds something that was not disclosed, the result can be a refusal, an approval taken back, money to be repaid, a penalty, or a decision that affects applications you make in future. Those are the agency’s decisions and we cannot undo them
  • We are not responsible for any of that, and it is not a reason for a refund of our fee
  • Please tell us the difficult thing. It is nearly always easier to deal with while we are preparing the application than after a decision has been made, and if it needs a licensed attorney we will tell you so and point you to one

Other companies involved in your service

Some services involve someone other than us: our homecare partner Safwat Homecare LLC, an airline or travel provider, an insurance company, a bank, or a government agency. We help you deal with them, but they run their own businesses under their own terms, and we are not responsible for what they decide or how they behave.

Using this website

  • Everything on this website is general information to help you understand a process. It is not legal advice, tax advice, or advice about your own situation
  • Rules, fees, forms and processing times change. We update these pages, but the official government source always wins. Where we can, we link to it
  • The words, photographs, brand and design on this site belong to Chowdhury & Associates LLC. Please do not copy them or present them as your own
  • We link to government and partner websites for your convenience. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content
  • Please do not use this website or our forms to send anything unlawful, abusive or automated

Contacting us by phone, WhatsApp or email

Sending us a message through this website, on WhatsApp, or by email does not by itself make you our client and does not create any agreement between us. Work begins when we have spoken, agreed what is needed, and agreed the fee.

Ordinary email and messaging are convenient but not fully secure. Please do not send Social Security numbers, A-numbers or photos of documents by message unless we ask you to. See our privacy policy for how we handle what you do send.

Limits on our responsibility

We take real care with your paperwork, and we check it before it goes anywhere. But there are things nobody in our position can be responsible for, and it is fairer to say so than to hide it in small print.

  • The decision an agency makes on your application, and how long it takes to make it
  • A delay, loss or error caused by a government agency, an embassy, the postal service or a courier
  • A problem that follows from information or documents that were incomplete, held back or untrue, including something an agency discovers long after the work was done
  • A change in the law, the rules, or the fees after we have done the work
  • Anything done by another company involved in your service
  • If we do make a mistake, we will correct our work at no charge. Beyond that, our responsibility for any service is limited to the fee you paid us for that service

If something goes wrong

Come and tell us. Call the office, or come in and ask for Hosen. We would much rather hear about a problem and put it right than have you leave unhappy. If we cannot resolve it between us, the law of the State of Michigan applies to these terms, and any dispute goes to the courts of Wayne County, Michigan.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time, and we keep the right to do so. Our services, our prices and the rules we work under all change, and this page has to be able to keep up with them.

We will not always manage that on the same day. Sometimes something changes in the office before the website catches up, and we would rather say that here than pretend this page is never behind. If you want to be certain about something that matters to you, ask us and we will tell you what applies today.

The version published here, with the date at the top, is the one that applies to your use of this website. The terms that apply to work we do for you are the ones we agree with you when we take the work on, and if a change affects work we are already doing, we will tell you about it directly rather than leaving it on a webpage for you to find.

Questions

If anything on this page is unclear, ask us. Call the office, message us on WhatsApp, or walk in during business hours, and we will explain it in Bangla, Sylheti or English. Our phone numbers and addresses are on the contact page.
