Frequently asked questions
I do not know which service I need. What should I do?
Just tell us what happened. Most people come in because money is short, or a letter arrived, or a job ended, and that is the right way to come. We go through your situation and tell you which programs and services fit.
Do I have to speak English?
No. We work in Bangla, Sylheti and English every day, we complete the forms with you, and we translate the letters that come back.
Is it free to apply for government benefits?
Yes. Applying for Medicaid, food assistance, SSI, unemployment and the rest costs nothing from the government. Our fee is only for the help we give, and it is published on our prices page so you can check it before you come in.
Will using these services affect my green card or citizenship?
For most programs, no. Under current rules, health coverage, food assistance and WIC do not by themselves make you a "public charge". Rules can change, so bring us your situation and we will go through it honestly and say plainly if anything in your case is a real concern.
We assist with paperwork and preparation. We are not attorneys or CPAs and do not provide legal or accounting advice.
